Talo offers full service construction management for sustainable owner-built custom designed prefabricated residential projects. Our prefabrication team manufactures heavy timber structural systems, wall assemblies, and insulated structural roof panels out of FSC sustainably harvested wood products.
This system allows for higher quality construction, reduced site impact, shorter build times and reduced costs.
For project owners that want to be involved in the process of building their new home, Talo offers the expertise to manage all aspects of the build for a flat fee. From permitting and planning, to trade management and bid selection, up to the issuing of an occupancy permit.
Flat fee project management is a way to reduce sub-trade costs, and timeline delays.
At Talo Green Build Project Management, we believe that collaboration is key to success.
We work closely with our clients to understand their challenges and goals, and develop solutions that are tailored to their unique needs. Our approach is transparent, results-driven, and designed to help projects thrive.

Built in 2022 the McCluskey Rock House was constructed with a repurposed hand-hewn timber frame from the late 1800s. A new high efficiency sustainable envelope was constructed, an 8kw solar generator, and passive heating and cooling strategies were implemented.
Built in 2019 on a remote and rugged island site, the Stony lake house is a modern sustainable prefabricated home. This building designed by Talo was awarded the house of the year over 2500 sq feet by the Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes Home Builders Association.
The site installation involved a complex logistical coordination of barging trucking and a 2 crane assembly system on the island site.
The hybrid timber and prefab panel structure was completed in 5 days.
The Rob Roy Barn House was completed in 2023. The building’s structural elements are salvaged from a Southern Ontario barn originally built in 1884. Talo also collaborated with the client and architectural team on the complex and detailed interior design.
Located in the Kolapore Uplands in Ontario, Finlandia, built in 2014, is a sustainable hybrid timber and prefabricated panelized structure. The structure was sited to capitalize on passive solar heating and passive cooling strategies. Many LEED sustainability principles were employed in the construction process.
